ALVANDI Panoral 57 Ver.III, Large Format Technical Camera
ALVANDI Panoral 57 Ver.III, 5x7/13x18 Technical Camera
Panoral 57 Ver.III is a new product with a modern and newer design than the Panoral 57 Ver.II camera.
As with previous systems, modularity, ease of use, portability, low weight and dimensions are the features of this camera.
Introduction to the Panoral 57 Ver.III Camera
The Panoral 57 Ver.III camera is a large format technical camera with tilt and shift capabilities. This camera has a modern design for large format and medium format photography.
The Panoral 57 Ver.III camera is designed to shoot in 5x7/13x18 format. But thanks to Graflok's design, you can shoot all smaller formats with the help of the necessary adapters and back rolls.
The camera is designed to be simple enough for the photographer to use for most shooting situations. All parts are made of Aluminum alloy 6061 T6 by CNC machine. All aluminum parts are coated by black anodized and all steel parts coated by Copper-Nickel-Chromium.

Introducing camera components from front to back
Like other Panoral technical cameras, there is a lens board on the front of the camera. Each lens board includes a helical focus mount and a special cone that is designed and manufactured based on the focal length of the lens. Each helical focus mount must be calibrated by the consumer for first use. The size of the lens board is 160 x 160 mm.

Choosing the right lens is based on the image circle of the lens. You should consider the image circle of the lens for the 5x7/13x18 inch format, accordingly, a variety of lenses from 72 to 180 can be used on it. Also, you can shoot 4x5in with lenses 47XL, 58XL, 65 and 57 to 45 reducing back adapter or shoot 6x16cm with a 6x17 Graflok roll film back. So you can use all lenses from 47XL to 180 on this camera.
ALVANDI Panoral 57 Ver.III Movements
Thanks to the new design, and unlike the Panoral 57-I and Panoral 57 Ver.II cameras, the shift system of this camera is placed in its body.
Shift movements
As mentioned, the shift system is located in the body of this camera. Thanks to the new design, the shift system is possible in both vertical and horizontal directions.
These movements are completely independent of each other and their value is +20mm for rise, –15mm fall and ±15mm left and right. These movements are performed by two hand screws knob located on the right and bottom of the camera.
When the camera is placed on a tripod, you can easily shift using two knobs.

The table below shows the shift capability in Panoral 57 Ver.III in terms of lens, format position and movements. Note that this table is measured by the software, so it may be a bit different in practice.

Tilt movements
For the tilt system, a special tilt adapter is placed between the body and the lens board. The tilt in this camera is Asymmetric and +8 degrees.
With the help of two knobs on the left and right side of the camera, you can do the tilt. As mentioned, the tilt system in this camera is Asymmetric. For this purpose, Asymmetric tilt lines are drawn in the ground glass of the camera.
Based on this system, you have to focus areas of the subject located at infinity on the bottom Asymmetric line of the ground glass with the help of the helical focus mount, then focus the close distances of the subject with the help of tilt.
Remember, there is no need to reset the helical focus mount after this adjustment.

You can do +8 degree Asymmetric swing by turning the tilt adapter 90 degrees to left or right.

Back Part system
The back part of this camera is the same as the standard back part of the Panoral 57 Ver.II.
The Panoral 57 Ver.III camera has a Graflok system in the back part. In this system, the ground glass part is replaced with a 6x17 Graflok back roll after focusing and before shooting without any change in focus.

Thanks to the 6x17/6x12 roll back, you can easily shoot two traditional panoramic formats using this camera.
The 5x7 ground glass unit comes with a folding focusing hood.

Panoral 57 to 45 reducing back adapter
Another Panoral 57 Ver.III camera accessory is the 57 to 45 reducing back adapter. This is a very useful part for the Panoral 57 Ver.III camera, which enables you to use a wide range of standard formats, including digital back.

Using this adapter, you can shoot the following formats. 5x7, 4x5, 6x12, 6x9, 6x6 and 6x4.5. You can also add 6x17/6x12 format with the help of Graflock 6x17 back roll.
The 4x5 reducing back adapter comes with a folding focusing hood.

Comparison of Panoral 57 Ver.III and Panoral 57 Ver.II

You can compare in the pictures below Panoral 57 Ver.III vs Panoral 57 Ver.II. The green part is body, blue part is vertical shift and orange part is horizontal shift. Both cameras are with 90mm helical focus mount and cone.
